Hytera’s Communication Technologies Support the Smooth Running of Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics
Beijing 2022 is most-watched and digitally engaged Winter Olympics ever, more than 515 million have tuned into the events on CCTV broadcasting. More than 2,000 athletes from 129 countries attended this world class sports event in Beijing. It is a big challenge to create a smooth event without triggering a virus outbreak. Beijing, for a city determined to keep out the virus that first emerged within its borders, bringing in more than 15,000 people from all over the world for the event.
To ensure a safe and smooth run of the event, the onsite security officers, the referees and rescue teams need to respond quickly to any accidents and emergencies during all the races. The Olympic committee adopted a series of professional communication products from Hytera and empowered the staff and volunteers with reliable and sable communication supports, Hytera's terminals and systems were powerful and rugged at the outdoor competitions under minus 30 degrees. Besides, Hytera also supported the command and dispatch of the healthcare workers in the Olympic Village, and protect them to have non-contact communication when conducting the covid-19 tests.
The venues for the Games are concentrated upon Beijing, its suburb Yanqing District, and Zhangjiakou. The communications need to be long-distance and wide-range coverage, also to be available among multiple persons and groups. For example, the public safety departments as well as the emergency and respond departments need to safeguard the cities’ daily operations and deal with the emergencies during the Winter Olympics weeks. Hytera’s two way radios provided the reliable voice, image and video services, to enable the police officers to carry out multiple missions simultaneously and increasing the efficiency of critical communications. For emergency and respond rescuers, Hytera’s mesh radio and E-pack digital wireless ad-hoc repeaters were applied to have a flexible deploy and stable on-site command. Moreover, for the new Beijing–Zhangjiakou intercity railway, Hytera also provided a series of communication products to ensure reliable and secure communications among drivers, dispatchers, and staff at the station, and monitor train status in real time.
