ACCESSNET®-T IP for optimal processes
The Geneva airport is the second largest airport of Switzerland. With over 11 million passengers every year, the resulting requirements on the mobile communication of employees are very high. Consequently, a continuous and stable communication must be ensured to maintain the effective traffic of passengers and goods. For this reason, we were authorised in 2007 to equip the airport area with our TETRA mobile radio system.
The expansion with redundant components in the year 2009 confirms the uncompromising flexibility of oursystem. As part of this step, we performed an upgrade of the existing system during ongoing operation.
Highlights of our solutions
- Highly redundant TETRA mobile radio system, secured mobile radio connection even with a failure of individual locations
- Central network monitoring and accounting management from a PC workstation
- Object call server for automatic call group creation
- Upgrade during ongoing operation
Our mobile radio solution in detail
For the Geneva airport, we implemented an individually adapted ACCESSNET®-T mobile radio system based on the TETRA standard. Four base stations are connected to two switching nodes. Three basestations are integrated as outdoor stations each with two carriers and one as indoor station with three carriers. Thanks to the highly redundant system design, the communication system remains stable, even in case of major faults, such as the failure of individual locations.
Special applications expand the scope of functions: With the help of the Trunked Radio Dispatcher and the Network Management Centre, subscriber data is managed and controlled via a commercial PC. Voice and data recorder allow recording calls and transmitted data.
The customer-specifically created object call server represents the special characteristic of our TETRA solution. The automatic call group creation translates into an enormous increase in efficiency in the short time for preparing an aeroplane. Our solution integrated one of the largest TETRA mobile radio systems in Switzerland. It provides the Geneva airport a powerful, robust and individually customised communication system.
